FoosApp ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Foos App mobile application and the website at foos-app.com (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding your data.

We may receive information from third-party services you connect to your account, such as subscription status from RevenueCat (our subscription management provider) or streaming channel data.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide the Service: Create and maintain your account, display your profile, deliver messages, manage tournaments, and show relevant content
  • Communications: Send push notifications, in-app notifications, and SMS messages related to your activity (matches, tournaments, messages, partner board updates)
  • Improve the Service: Analyze usage patterns to fix bugs, develop new features, and enhance user experience
  • Safety & Moderation: Detect and prevent abuse, fraud, spam, and violations of our Terms of Service
  • Legal Compliance: Comply with applicable laws, regulations, and legal processes

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following circumstances:

  • Public Content: Your profile, posts, comments, tournament results, and partner board entries are visible to other users and may appear on public web pages
  • Service Providers: We use trusted third-party services to operate the platform:
    • Twilio — phone verification and SMS notifications
    • Amazon Web Services (AWS) — media storage (S3) and infrastructure
    • Expo — push notification delivery
    • RevenueCat — subscription and purchase management
    • Heroku — application hosting
    • Google Maps — map and location services
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information when required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of FoosApp, our users, or the public
  • Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on servers in the United States. We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), secure token-based authentication (JWT), and access controls. Media files are stored securely on Amazon S3. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Your Choices & Rights

  • Edit Your Profile: You can update your name, email, photo, and other profile information at any time through the app
  • Notification Preferences: You can control push notifications, in-app notifications, and SMS alerts in your notification settings
  • Delete Content: You can delete your posts, comments, and partner board entries
  • Block Users: You can block other users to prevent them from messaging you or viewing your profile
  • Delete Your Account: You can request account deletion by contacting us at support@foos-app.com. Upon deletion, we will remove your personal data, though some information may be retained as required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., tournament records)
  • Data Access: You may request a copy of your personal data by contacting us

6. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will promptly delete it. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@foos-app.com.

7. California Residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to request deletion, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. 8. International Users

If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer. If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you may have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Contact us to exercise these rights.

9. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. After account deletion, we may retain certain data for a reasonable period to fire legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Tournament results and standings may be retained indefinitely as part of the competitive record.

10. Cookies & Tracking

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to maintain session state and improve user experience. The mobile app does not use cookies. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the Service or by other reasonable means. The effective date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last updated.
